The Dorenell Community Benefit Forum has been working with Foundation Scotland to develop a strategy for the distribution of the Fund, drawing on the Dorenell Community Development Plan. The Community Benefit Forum is made up of representatives from Dufftown and District Community Association, Glenrinnes Community Centre, Glenlivet and Inveravon Community Association and Cabrach Community Association. Foundation Scotland is an independent charity with expertise in grant making. It will administer the Fund for the first three years.
Decisions on funding awards will be made by a Community Panel, which is yet to be set up. The Panel will comprise of local people who will be appointed through an open and transparent process.
The Fund will open to applications once an agreement between the four Community Associations and EDF, the provider of the funding, has been finalised. At this stage it is not known when that will be. However, the community benefit monies will accrue from the date the wind farm starts producing electricity, which is likely to be 11th March 2019.
